Our home is in a quiet suburb, Astley Village, of a bustling Lancastrian market town. Chorley has had a market since 1498, and today there are over 150 stalls on market day. There is a permanent market with a great reputation for fresh food and a range of eating and drinking stalls, including the smallest bar you will ever have seen!

All within 40 minutes drive or train from Chorley. You can get to Yorkshire and The Dales and The Peak District within 50 minutes by car or train. Edinburgh and Glasgow are 2 and half hours by train, or 3 and half hours by car. Chorley Rail station is on the line to Manchester Airport, which is only 40 mins away. Our house is on the edge of Astley Park which houses Astley Hall a Jacobean house, now in the care of the local community. Chorley claims to be the birthplace of Miles Standish, one of the Pilgrim Fathers. You can walk through the park into Chorley town centre in 15 minutes.
