Finally spring is here – what a wet winter we have had here in NZ. Hoping for lots of dry, sunny days ahead. Lots of members are starting to arrange swaps for the coming spring & summer months. We now have over 500 properties on the site, with more being added weekly – so many great homes to swap with !

New messaging system: We have been busy over the winter, improving the way in which members can communicate with each other. You will notice we now have an “in house “ messaging system that keeps your Holiday Swap messages all in one place . If you get a swap request message please be polite and reply – even if it’s to say “No thank you.”
(Keep an eye out for the quick “Polite Decline” option, which we will soon be adding to the messaging system)

Don’t wait – start chatting: Members who are proactive are the most successful swappers. Don’t wait for others to contact you – get in touch and you could agree a holiday swap in no time at all. Remember to reply to any swap messages quickly – it’s polite and means members can make other plans if you can’t swap with them.

Not getting replies to your swap requests?: We can help if you have not had a reply to a swap request after 7 days. Please contact us with a copy of you original swap message and we will contact the member on your behalf –  sometimes emails can go into junk/spam.

MyCarYourRrental: Have you heard about MyCarYourRental? It’s a peer-to- peer car rental network. It’s a great idea. You need a car when you fly off on holiday in New Zealand and you rent from a local, private person – and at the same time you can list your own car for rent!
You can easily earn money by renting out your car – you might be going away on a holiday and not using your car for a few days, you might use public transport during the week and so your car could be rented out or you have an extra car sitting on the drive not being used. Rent it out to others via this easy to use website. Full insurance cover is provided.  Visit:  to find out more.
Get set for summer and some great holiday swap adventures: Make sure your property listing is looking it’s best on the Holiday Swap website. Check your photos look good, you have a full & accurate description of your house / things to do locally & update any significant dates/requests you may have.
If you need any help to upload photos just ask.

Become ID verified: Members who are ID verified tend to get more swap enquiries. To do this simply email us a copy of your driver’s license or passport along with a recent rates bill for your Holiday Swap property. We can then check you are the owner of the property and place an ID verified stamp on your property listing.

Swap stories: We love to hear about your holiday swaps – just email a few words about where you went and how you found the experience to:
